Taste of the NFL to Celebrate 26 Years of Fighting Hunger at University of Houston

(January 18) Houston, TX Taste of the NFL, a premier sanctioned NFL organization, proudly announces that this year’s culinary hosts for its 26th Annual Party with a Purpose® are television host, cookbook author and Chef Richard Blais, Chopped Judge and Cookbook Author Alex Guarnaschelli and James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef and author Andrew Zimmern, who will all be in attendance to lead the culinary charge on Super Bowl Eve, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the University of Houston for

this year’s highly-anticipated event.

The star-studded Party with a Purpose® celebrates two of America’s favorite pastimes—food and footballpairing extraordinary chefs from the 32 NFL cities together with current, Hall of Fame and alumni players from each NFL franchise, celebrities and more, serving over 45,000 tastings for 2,500 guests to support the fight against hunger.

“The Taste of the NFL is the ultimate ‘party with a purpose’,” said long-standing supporter Andrew Zimmern. “It’s a place where we celebrate the yearlong efforts that the food community and the NFL undertake as partners to end hunger. There is no greater cause, no finer group of people, and no better place to hang your hat in the pursuit of social justice.

Chef Richard Blais who will be joining the Party with a Purpose® for the first time, “I'm so excited to be giving back, celebrating the big game and fighting hunger with some of my favorite big time food personalities at the Taste of the NFL Party with a Purpose!”

 Since its inception in 1992, Taste of the NFL has raised and donated over $25 million to food banks and nonprofit organizations in each of the 32 NFL cities, resulting in excess of 200 million meals for Americans. 100% of the proceeds generated from the Kick Hunger Challenge and the Party with a Purpose® goes directly back to each team’s hometown community.  

"Last year was our 25th anniversary and we are thrilled with the momentum and interest moving into our 26th year,” says Taste of the NFL founder Wayne Kostroski. “As Party with a Purpose® continues to grow, so has the need for hunger relief unfortunately. We are proud to be celebrating 26 years, over $25 million raised and over 200 million meals provided to food banks and nonprofit organizations across the country.”
