Taste of the NFL Bids Farewell to Earl Morrall

Earl Morrall, 18-year Taste of the NFL participant, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014. He was 79.

Although Morrall played on numerous teams during his 3-decade NFL career, he is most famous for his spot on the 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins team. Filling in for the injured Bob Griese in game 5, Morrall went on to lead the Dolphins to 11 straight wins -- the only undefeated team in NFL history.

Morrall joined the Taste of the NFL and attended the "Party with a Purpose®" for 18 years straight, representing both the Indianapolis Colts and the Miami Dolphins "Perfect Season". According to Taste of the NFL founder, Wayne Kostroski, "Every fan at our party wanted to meet the famous Earl Morrall. He is an irreplaceable member of our team who will never be forgotten."

Taste of the NFL honored Morrall in February of 2013. Please watch this video:

Set against the backdrop of commercial excess, and Super Bowl-eve fetes from Playboy, Maxim and others not necessarily renowned for philanthropy, the "Party With a Purpose" long go became one of the "must" Super Bowl events... ...
